MEET RAQUEL SHUTT, MBA

Raquel Shutt is the President of Golden Rule Meetings. Raquel is an executive with over 20 years of experience in the meetings and events industry.

Raquel earned her MBA from Loyola University Maryland in 2004. During her coursework, she started a small event planning company. Over the next 17 years, Wedding Savvy, Inc. won numerous awards and grew to the highest-rated firm in the nation. After many rewarding years at the helm, in 2019 she sold the business to enjoy the last few years of high school with her children.

Raquel continued to offer corporate meeting & event planning services under the brand Advantage WSI and in 2023, rebranded the business to Golden Rule Meetings, reflecting her core competencies and personal values better.

Raquel is honored to serve corporate clients nationwide, working with her tried and true network of proven professionals to produce award-winning events. She does so with her trademark hospitality and solid business acumen. 

Raquel resides in Annapolis, Maryland, with her husband and three sons. In addition to planning meaningful meetings and events, she enjoys golfing, spending time with family, and volunteering at her Catholic Church.
